Frederic Pette, Vice-President, European Affairs Committee, French National Assembly said that the only place where there are no conflicts is the cemetery. “I won’t be meeting you because you disagree with me”, a member of Parliament told him. He analyzed the fact that “Georgian Dream”, the group of chairmen of Foreign Relations Committees of eight EU countries, refused to meet the delegation.
This is “very disappointing” to him.
“We want to say Europe is a Family. The European Union is an instrument for managing conflict. We can’t always agree. In Europe, we have disagreements but we also work together. It is surprising to me as a legislator that a member of the parliament tells me “I won’t be meeting you because you disagree with me.” It is a rejection of democracy for me. The only place there is no conflict, is in the cemetery. “I’m not in any hurry to get there,” said Ptte.
