Tina Bokuchava, leader of “Unity – National Movement“, said that it is sad when a government, which is supposed represent the pro-European population, steals their future by denying them the right to travel to Europe. This puts European leaders in a difficult position where they must discuss the implementation of a mechanism to temporarily suspend visa-free travel.
According to her, she said that one of the main topics of discussion was the question of conducting an international investigation relating to the elections.
“The only topic of discussion today was the international investigative instrument that will study the extent to which fraud occurred in the October 26th elections. Internationally, there is no doubt that the October 26 elections did not reflect the will of the Georgians. We heard this at the meeting today. However, it is important to examine the specific scale of the fraud, which is why we are creating investigative tools.
It is obvious that “Georgian Dream”, which has a lot of criminal activities to cover up, will find various reasons not to allow the investigative tool in Georgia to be launched.
The possibility that European leaders could decide to temporarily suspend visa-free travel was also discussed. I must stress that this is not an annulment, but a temporary suspension. The “Leadership” of Europe discusses this decision, which was confirmed by the guests during the press conference and announced publicly.
Bokuchava said, “It is right that Georgians regain power and regain a European future. Not only will visa-free travel be possible in our country, but Georgia must also begin negotiations to join the European Union.”
