**Drone Attacks Escalate in Russia and Ukraine**
Russia and Ukraine have carried out their biggest drone attacks against each other since the beginning of the war. The attacks come amid hopes that US President-elect Donald Trump may put pressure on both parties to end the conflict.
**Russian Targets Hit**
The governor of the region described an attempted attack by Ukraine on Moscow as “massive”. Most of the drones were shot down in districts near Moscow, including Ramenskoye, Kolomna, and Domodedovo. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that four houses caught fire and five people were injured due to debris falling from the sky.
**Ukrainian Targets Hit Back**
At least two people in Ukraine were injured when a drone struck the Odesa area. Images showed flames coming from buildings and damage. The Ukrainian air force reported that 62 Russian drones, made by Iran, were shot down while 67 others were “lost”.
**Casualties on Both Sides**
Overnight, Russia reported that it had destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones in the vicinity of Kursk-Belgorod. In southern Ukraine, five people have been killed and a woman injured following an air strike.

Former adviser Bryan Lanza told the BBC that the new administration would focus on achieving peace rather than allowing Ukraine to regain territory from Russia. However, a spokesperson for Trump responded by saying that Mr Lanza did not “speak for him”.
