EU Confirms No Decisions Made on Sending Troops to Ukraine
The European Union has denied reports that they are planning to send military personnel to Ukraine. This comes as US President Donald Trump considers various options for freezing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
According to EU spokesperson Peter Stano, no decisions have been made about sending troops to Ukraine. Stano made this statement in response to questions from Ukrinform about reported communications between Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and proposals about deploying European troops along a contact line between Ukrainian forces and Russian forces.
The idea of creating a buffer zone with EU and UK troops is just one of many options being considered by Trump as part of his plan to freeze the conflict. Before his election, Trump had indicated that he would start peace talks before taking office in January.
