Ukrainian Forces Decimate Russian and North Korean Troops
Elite Ukrainian brigades have dealt a heavy blow to an assault force of Russians and North Koreans near Malaya Loknya. The attackers lost 15 armored vehicles.
A New Counterattack
The Russians had launched a new counterattack to recapture the area, involving the North Koreans. However, the Ukrainians used this time to prepare their elite units for the Russian assaults.
Russian Plan Foiled
The Russians planned to advance along a paved road towards Malaya Loknya and aim for the town near Pogrebki. They also planned to attack from the west via a road from Novoivanovka. The goal was to secure a large area in the north and cut off Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian Defense
The area was defended by elite Ukrainian units, including the 47th Mechanized Brigade and 82nd Airmobile Brigade. These units were well-prepared for the Russian attack.
Russian Assault Repelled
The Russians launched an assault along the paved road to Malaya Loknya, deploying around 15 BTRs and over 150 soldiers. However, the Ukrainians had set up landmines along the roads, which destroyed several vehicles. The Ukrainians then used drones, RPGs, and landmines to destroy the remaining Russian vehicles.
Desperate Retreat
The Russians were forced into a desperate retreat, with only one BTR reaching the rear before being destroyed. This marked the complete destruction of the Russian columns.
