Coronavirus Cases Rise in Georgia
There have been 1857 new cases of coronavirus detected in the last 24 hours. This was announced by Berdia Sichinava, a representative from the Interagency Coordination Council.
Tests Performed
In the past day, 17,795 tests were performed to check for coronavirus. These included antigen tests and PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests.
Cases by Region
The most cases of coronavirus were found in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. This was followed by Imereti with 334 cases and Samegrelo/Zemo Svaneti with 158 cases.
Total Cases and Recoveries
In total, there have been 241,637 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak began. A total of 22,7208 people have recovered from the disease, up from 993 new recoveries in the last day.
Deaths Rise
Unfortunately, there were 24 new deaths due to coronavirus. This brings the total death toll to 2,820.
Current Situation
Currently, 514 people are in quarantine facilities assigned by the government. There are also 3,879 people hospitalized and 22,823 people in self-isolation.
