Coalition for Change, Unity – UNM Officially Resign Their MP Mandates

Two groups, Coalition and Unity UNM, have decided not to take part in the new parliament. They held special meetings November 12 to announce their decision.

Coalition Change leader said that the current parliament is not legitimate. She stated that all 82 from her party refuse to work with government that stole the election and represents Russia’s interests. Each candidate has signed a letter asking the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) to cancel their candidacy.

Unity UNM leader Tinatin Bokuchava also announced her party’s decision not to join parliament. She said that Unity-UNM members renounced their mandates after the “rigged” election. The CEC will receive letters from each candidate on this matter.

Coalition for Change and Unity UNM had previously said they would not take part in parliament. However, today’s statements make it official. They have already signed documents that will be sent to the CEC.

Other , Strong Coalition and , also exceeded the five percent threshold but have not yet made a decision about joining parliament.
