**Opposition Leader Speaks Out on Election Fraud Investigation**
Badri Japaridze, a leader of the “Strong Georgia” opposition party, made some strong statements in court yesterday. He was being questioned by investigators as part of an investigation into possible election fraud.
Japaridze thinks that the questioning is just going through the motions. He believes that the task of the prosecutor’s office is to create a fake process, making it look like they’re interested in what he has to say.
“How can a criminal try to investigate his own crime?” Japaridze asked. In this case, the crime was committed by the ruling party “Georgian Dream“, and their controlled prosecutor’s office is not investigating or trying to find the truth.
Japaridze said that the prosecutor’s office should be investigating the allegations of election fraud, but instead they’re just collecting information from the opposition. He thinks this is absurd and turns the truth upside down.
**Evidence Not Being Investigated**
Japaridze also pointed out that there are thousands of pieces of evidence that have not been investigated by the prosecutor’s office. He believes that those who committed the forgery should be held accountable, but so far, no one has been publicly punished.
**Handing Over Evidence to Prosecutor’s Office**
Yesterday, Japaridze announced that he would be handing over the evidence collected by the opposition to the prosecutor’s office. He said that this report clearly explains how the falsification schemes worked and what they were based on.
The prosecutor’s office claims to have interrogated several opposition leaders and representatives from non-governmental organizations as part of their investigation. However, specific names are not being disclosed.
