**Ukraine Seeks Air Defense Help from International Partners**
The government of Ukraine is asking for more help with air defense systems. This comes as Russia continues to launch attacks on energy targets in the country.
**Germany Sends More Air Defense Systems**
Last month, Germany promised to send 17 more IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine. The first system was delivered to Kyiv earlier this year. The German government hopes that this will help protect Ukrainian civilians from Russian missile strikes.
**Leaders Discuss Future Cooperation**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about future cooperation in the defense sector. They discussed the need for more air defense supplies and possible additional assistance from Germany. The two leaders also agreed to keep meeting as part of a group called the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
**Ukraine’s Peace Plan**
Zelensky also talked about his vision for peace in Ukraine. He plans to present this at a meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries in Brazil. Zelensky thanked Germany for its support and said that it would be helpful if they could provide some key capabilities, such as long-range missiles.
