The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russian forces advanced near Kurakhove and Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast. The area saw heavy fighting, with both sides suffering losses. The ISW noted that Russia’s “meat assault” tactics of frontal attacks are effective, despite causing heavy casualties.
**Ternivska Dam Damage**
On November 11, an explosion damaged the Ternivska Dam at the Kurakhivske Reservoir. The incident caused minor flooding but no significant damage to nearby homes or settlements. Ukrainian authorities said the dam was not fully emptied.
**Russian Advances in Kursk Oblast**
In Kursk Oblast, Russian forces conducted a multi-wave mechanized assault southeast of Korenevo on November 12. They also advanced near Plekhovo and Pogrebki. The ISW reported that Russian forces deployed 29 armored vehicles, but Ukrainian forces claimed to have destroyed 18.
