Poland’s President Andrzej Duda said on November 13 that US President-elect Donald Trump will not let Russia destroy Ukraine. Duda made his comments at a press conference.
According to Duda, Trump “does not like to lose” and the US has already invested too much in helping Ukraine to simply give up now. The Polish President said he couldn’t imagine Trump allowing Russia to take over Ukraine, given that American taxpayers have spent heavily on supporting the country.
**Trump’s Plans for Ukraine Unclear**
Analysts and politicians are still trying to figure out what Trump plans to do about the war in Ukraine. He promised to end the conflict within 24 hours after his reelection, but didn’t give any details.
**US Increases Military Aid to Ukraine**
The Biden administration is increasing US military aid to Ukraine in its final months in office. This is to help as much as possible before Trump takes over on January 20, 2025. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken made this announcement in Brussels on November 13.
**Poland and UK Team Up for Ukraine**
To “Trump-proof” their support for Ukraine, Poland has started building an alliance with the UK. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk plans to meet his British counterpart Keir Starmer soon. They will also discuss ongoing support for Ukraine with other leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
