Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: A Year and a Half Later
The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has released new numbers on the losses Russia has suffered in its invasion of Ukraine. According to their report, Russia has lost 716,070 troops since February 24, 2022.
This number includes 1,690 casualties from just one day. The total number of Russian military equipment destroyed or captured is staggering: 9,319 tanks, 18,947 armored fighting vehicles, and 29,090 vehicles and fuel tanks have been lost.
The report also details the loss of artillery systems (20,472), multiple launch rocket systems (1,252), air defense systems (997), airplanes (369), helicopters (329), drones (18,852), ships and boats (28), and one submarine.
