Russia’s Military Short on Tanks, So It Uses Old Ones from Movies
The Russian military is in need of more tanks. To help, a state-owned film studio has given some old tanks to the army.
Mosfilm, which makes movies for Russia, had been using these tanks as props in films. They are 1950s-era tanks that were first used by the Soviet Union during World War II.
These older tanks will be used to fight against Ukraine‘s military. Russia’s military has lost many of its newer and more modern tanks in battles with Ukraine. Giving old tanks a new job helps Russia keep using what it already has, but it also means they won’t have the most up-to-date technology.
