Government and Opposition: No Mediation Needed
There will be no mediation between the government and opposition, according to Elene Khoshtaria, a leader of the “Coalition for Change”.
The Coalition’s leaders were asked about the possibility of European Parliament President Charles Michel acting as a mediator. They replied that there would be no need for this.
Elene Khoshtaria said at a press conference that both her party and its allies had learned not to trust promises made by the government, known as “Georgian Dream”. She mentioned an agreement from 2020 which was ignored by the government.
Khoshtaria believes that trying to mediate with such a government would be pointless.
