**Young People in Georgia Discuss Climate Action**
In October, young people from across Georgia came together to talk about their role in making the world a better place. The event was organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Environmental Information and Education Center of Georgia.
Many of the attendees were part of a summer camp called “Young Climate Ambassadors“. This program helps young people become leaders on environmental issues.
**A Video Project Highlights Youth Concerns**
The event included a screening of a video project called “Thank You for This World”. The project was created by two young people, Rezi Dgebuadze and Karen Cirillo. It features letters from young adults sharing their thoughts about the future and climate change.
Rezi said, “What will happen in 10 years? Will the green still be there?” The video shows that young people care deeply about the environment and want to find solutions to the climate crisis.
**Young People Share Climate Initiatives**
The event also included a discussion of various climate initiatives across Georgia. Young people shared their projects, which focus on environmental education, raising awareness, and encouraging people to change their behavior. These local projects are making a difference by engaging communities and teaching people about the importance of climate action.
**Supporting Youth Leaders**
Nils Christensen from UNDP said, “We empower hundreds of young people to lead climate campaigns and engage in educational programs.” The UNDP is proud to support Georgia’s young leaders as they work towards creating a safer, more disaster-resilient future.
