Russian chef who spoke out against ‘s war Ukraine was found dead in the , Belgrade. Alexei Zimin was 51 years old and had lived in London for many years.

Zimin’s body was discovered on 12 in a rented apartment where he was staying. He was promoting his new book “Anglomania” during his visit to Serbia. The said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, but they are still investigating.

The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy and toxicology report have been ordered. Zimin’s friends and colleagues at the London restaurant he co-founded, ZIMA, paid tribute to him on Instagram. They described him as a friend and colleague who was always there for them through good times and bad.

Zimin had spoken out against Russia’s war on Ukraine and had lived in London since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. His death is the latest in a series of deaths involving Russian expatriates who have been critical of the war.
