**Protests Erupt in Abkhazia Over Russia Deal**
Abkhazia is a region that belongs to Georgia, but is controlled by Russia. On Wednesday, protesters gathered outside the local parliament building to show their opposition to a deal with Moscow.
The protesters said the agreement was unfair and only benefited Russia. Despite the parliament’s decision to delay considering the deal, the demonstrators demanded an immediate vote to reject it.
**Tensions Rise**
As the protest intensified, protesters surrounded government buildings and even used a car to break through a fence. They also threw eggs and bottles at police officers. Some shots were fired during the rally, but no one was hurt. The police used tear gas to try and disperse the crowd.

Some reports said that protesters managed to get into the parliament building and were moving further inside. However, this has not been officially confirmed.

The Abkhaz opposition leader, Levan Mykaa, was quoted as saying that protesters would stay in the building until the president resigned. But this claim has not been officially confirmed.
**Regional Tensions**
Abkhazia has recently become a focus of attention due to rumors of a Russian naval base being built there. Russia denies these claims, but Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that his country would target Russia’s Black Sea Fleet “wherever it is stationed”. This includes Abkhazia.
