**Germany and China to Discuss Ukraine War**
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Chinese President Xi Jinping will talk about the war in Ukraine next week. They are expected to discuss North Korean troops involved in the conflict during the G20 Summit in Brazil.
**Russia’s Military Situation**
Germany also announced that Scholz spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 15. Scholz condemned the war and told Putin to withdraw his troops. The Pentagon confirmed that North Korean soldiers are fighting alongside Russian troops in Ukraine.
**Difficult Time for Ukraine**
The discussions come at a tough time for Ukraine. Russia has the upper hand on the battlefield, and Ukraine’s European partners are preparing for a deal that might involve giving up some territories in return for security guarantees.
**US Involvement**
Donald Trump’s return to the White House may lead to less US involvement in the war. US President Joe Biden will also talk with Xi about China’s support for Russia and North Korean troops during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Peru on November 16.
