**EU Preparing New Sanctions Against Iran**
The European Union is getting ready to impose more sanctions on Iranian individuals and companies that help Russia’s military efforts. This was reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) on November 15.
According to a top EU official, the new sanctions will target one Iranian person and four entities involved in delivering military goods to Russia. Three of these companies are Russian shipping firms that have helped deliver Iranian weapons.
**Sanctions Against Iran**
This is not the first time the EU has imposed sanctions on Iran for its military cooperation with Russia. In October, seven individuals and seven entities were targeted after it was discovered that Tehran had supplied Moscow with close-range ballistic missiles.
The new sanctions are a response to Iran’s continued supply of military equipment to Russia, including Shahed attack drones and missiles. The EU wants to pressure Iran into stopping this cooperation.
**Russia Sanctions**
In addition to the Iranian sanctions package, EU foreign ministers will meet in Brussels on November 18 to discuss the bloc’s next set of sanctions against Russia. This would be the European Union’s 15th package of sanctions against Russia and would target foreign-made components found in Russian weaponry.
