**Ukraine Receives Over $100 Billion in Foreign Aid**
Since Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the country has received over $100 billion in foreign-backed external financing to support its state budget. This was announced by Ukraine’s finance ministry on November 15.
**Military and Economic Aid**
In addition to military aid, Western countries have helped to finance Ukraine’s state budget due to increased budgetary pressures on the nation. The aid comes from various programs, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and individual countries like the United States and European Union nations.
**Leading Donors**
The European Union is the leading donor, providing $40.5 billion in support. The United States follows with $28.2 billion, while the IMF has contributed $11.4 billion. Japan and Canada have also provided significant aid, totaling over 90% of Ukraine’s external financing.
**Non-Repayable Grants**
About one-third of the aid, or $33.7 billion, has come in the form of non-repayable grants, with the United States providing the majority of these funds.
**US Support for Ukraine**
The United States leads in its support for Ukraine, allocating a total of $175 billion to assist the country. This includes military assistance and external funding.
