**Chairman of Central Election Commission Sprayed with Black Paint**
There was a loud argument at the meeting of the Central Election Commission in Georgia. Davit Kirtadze, a representative of the party “Unity – National Movement”, had an issue with Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chairman of the CEC.
**Why did Kirtadze protest?**
Kirtadze said that Kalandarishvili once stated that election ballots were leaked. Today, Kirtadze felt that Kalandarishvili himself was leaking information and damaging the country’s reputation. He called this “a black spot” on the country.
**What did Kirtadze do?**
In protest, Kirtadze sprayed Kalandarishvili with black paint. This was a demonstration of his solidarity with people who are protesting against the disputed elections in Georgia.
**Kirtadze’s statement**
“I don’t know if I’ll be punished for this,” said Kirtadze. “But I’m ready for anything. Today, our country had a chance to hold free and fair elections that would have brought us into the big family of European countries. But we chose Russia instead.”
