**Ukraine’s Nuclear Power Plants Reduce Output**
Ukraine’s nuclear power plants have cut back on electricity production. This is a precautionary measure, said Rafael Mariano Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The reason for this reduction is Russia’s missile strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. These attacks have made it more difficult to ensure the safety and security of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants.
While the Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and South Ukrainian plants are still operating, several substations that supply them with electricity were damaged in the strikes. This has increased the risk of a major problem at these power plants.
**Russia Launches Large-Scale Attack**
Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine overnight, targeting power generation and transmission facilities across the country. At least seven civilians died and 19 were injured in this attack.
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that Russia’s goal was to hit “power generation and transmission facilities throughout Ukraine”.
**Warning of Future Attacks**
Ukraine has been warning that Russia may resume attacks on its energy grid as temperatures drop. This is a strategy used by Russia before, and Ukraine officials are bracing for the worst.
