Russian Missile Attack on Ukraine’s Sumy City Kills 8, Including Children
A Russian missile attack on a residential high-rise building in Sumy city, northeastern Ukraine, has resulted in the deaths of eight people. This includes a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. At least 49 others have been injured.
The attack occurred on November 17th at around 8:38 pm local time. It hit a densely populated residential area, causing significant damage. Local officials reported that the building was struck by a ballistic missile launched by Russian forces.
This is not an isolated incident. Russia has been launching daily attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Earlier today, there were reports of another air assault that resulted in at least five civilian deaths and damage to power facilities. Additionally, a Russian artillery attack on Nikopol’s train depot killed two railway workers.
According to local authorities, an investigation has been launched into the missile strike. The number of people injured continues to rise, with 49 reported so far. Two children were among those who lost their lives in the attack.
