**Ukraine Faces Nationwide Power Restrictions**
The Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo has announced power restrictions across the country. This comes after a Russian attack damaged energy infrastructure in several regions.
More than one million people were left without electricity following the large-scale Russian attack on November 17. However, this number is now lower, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
**Russian Attack Causes Widespread Damage**
Russia launched a major air assault on Ukraine on November 17, using around 120 missiles and 90 drones to target energy infrastructure. The attack resulted in civilian casualties and widespread power outages.
Two railway workers were killed in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, while two energy workers died in Odesa Oblast. Another person was injured in the attack.
**Restoration Works Underway**
President Zelenskyy said that restoration works are ongoing in four regions and will continue around the clock. Ukrenergo announced scheduled power restrictions across all regions for Monday, November 18.
NATO has condemned the attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. In response, Poland has deployed fighter jets as a precautionary measure, particularly due to strikes near Lviv, close to its border.
