New Canoeing and Rowing Center Opens in Poti
A new sports center was opened in Maltakva, near the city of Poti. The Georgian government helped fund the project with 7 million GEL.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Culture Minister Tinatin Rukhadze attended the opening ceremony. The center has modern sports equipment and rooms for athletes to stay.
The area is good for water sports because it has a lot of water nearby. In the past, Georgian athletes said they needed better facilities to train.
The new center aims to promote water sports in Georgia. It also hopes to host international competitions there. A famous Georgian rower named Viktor Kratasyuk helped shape the plans for this historic facility.
