**Protesters Take to the Streets in Georgia**
A group called “Coalition for Change” has begun a 24-hour protest on Chavchavadze Avenue in the city center of Tbilisi, Georgia. The protesters are fighting against what they see as a coup d’état by the government.
Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the coalition, said that this is just the beginning of many forms of struggle to come. “We have been saying from the first day that when the government organizes a coup d’état, it is our obligation to fight,” she said.
The protesters are planning to stay on the streets for 24 hours and will hold protests in various forms in the following days. They have also received international support, but stress that this is based on the people’s struggle.
**Regaining Free Will**
In a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Khoshtaria emphasized that regaining free will is the main goal for Georgian citizens. “When they are deprived of their free will, it’s our main charge,” she said.
She also noted that while support from international partners and critical statements from the West are important, the ultimate drive should come from within Georgia to reclaim free will.
