**Drones Shot Down on Outskirts of Moscow**
Russia’s air defense has intercepted multiple drones on the outskirts of Moscow. The city’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, said this happened overnight on November 18.
One drone was shot down over the Ramensky district and another over the Pavlovsky Posad district around 4:30 a.m. local time, according to Sobyanin. But we couldn’t verify these claims, and Ukraine’s military hasn’t commented yet.
**Russia’s Recent Drone Attacks**
This alleged attack on Moscow comes just one night after Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on cities across Ukraine. This attack left seven civilians dead and at least 19 injured.
In recent months, Russia has been using drones to target cities in Ukraine almost daily. We reported that between August and October this year, Russia launched over 4,300 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine.
**Ukraine Hits Russian Targets**
Ukraine has also hit targets within Russia, focusing on the country’s oil infrastructure and defense industry. On November 10, Russian air defense shot down 70 Ukrainian drones, including 34 in Moscow Oblast. At least one person was injured in this attack.
**Russia’s Response to Ukraine’s Attacks**
The day before the largest drone attack on Moscow, Russia launched its own large-scale drone attack on Ukraine. This happened on November 9-10, with 145 drones entering Ukrainian airspace.
