US Official Confirms Ukraine Can Use American Weapons to Strike Russia
On November 18, a US official indirectly confirmed that President Joe Biden had given permission for Ukraine to use American weapons to hit Russian territory. This is a significant change in US policy.
The official, Brian A. Nichols, said the weapons would help Ukraine defend itself and show Russia that using force to take Ukrainian land won’t work. He spoke with a Brazilian newspaper, O Globo.
Nichols also said the war could end right now if Russia pulled its troops out of Ukraine and respected its borders. He called Russia’s invasion “unprovoked”.
