**Russia Accused Ukraine of Using US-Made Missiles**
On November 19, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine launched US-made ATACMS missiles against the Bryansk Oblast in Russia. This is according to Russian news agency TASS.
However, some Ukrainian media outlets reported that Ukraine successfully struck a Russian military facility in Karachev, Bryansk Oblast. If confirmed, this would be the first time Ukraine used US-made long-range missiles on Russian territory since Washington lifted restrictions last week.
**No Independent Verification**
The claims could not be verified independently. A Ukrainian military representative declined to comment on the reports for the Kyiv Independent. Ukrainian officials previously reported an attack on a Russian arsenal in Karachev, which stored various types of ammunition and missiles.
**Explosions Heard in Karachev**
Residents of Karachev reported explosions and detonations, including an alleged attack on a military base. The town is over 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
**Russia Claims to Have Shot Down Missiles**
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its forces shot down five and damaged one ATACMS missile. Missile fragments allegedly fell on a military facility in Bryansk Oblast and started a fire, but caused no casualties or damage.
