**Russia Launches Limited Drone and Missile Attack on Ukraine**
On November 18, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched a small number of drones and missiles overnight. This comes after a massive air assault on Ukraine the day before.
**Previous Day’s Attack**
The previous day’s attack was the largest in months. Russia fired 120 missiles and 90 drones at residential areas and civilian infrastructure, causing casualties and damaging power facilities.
**Latest Attack**
Last night, starting at 19:30, Russia launched:
* 11 Shahed one-way attack drones
* 2 ballistic missiles
* 1 guided missile
These were launched from Russia’s Kursk Oblast. Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles that hit a residential high-rise in Sumy, causing multiple casualties, were launched from Voronezh Oblast.
**Ukrainian Air Defenses Successful**
Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 8 attack drones over several regions. However, 3 drones were “locationally lost”, meaning they disappeared from radar, possibly crashing. These are likely to be decoy drones used by Russia to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses.
**Death Toll and Injuries in Sumy Rise**
The death toll from the Russian missile strike on an apartment building in Sumy has risen to 11, with 2 children among those killed. 89 people were injured in the attack. The city lost power after the second strike damaged power infrastructure.
