**Ukrnafta Buys Majority Stake in Shell’s Gas Station Network**
The state-owned oil and gas company Ukrnafta has bought a 51% stake in Shell’s gas station network in Ukraine. This means that Ukrnafta will now control most of the stations.
Shell is one of the top fuel networks in Ukraine, with 118 operational gas stations across the country. The deal was announced on November 19 by Naftogaz, the parent company of Ukrnafta.
**Jobs and Rebranding**
All 1,550 employees will keep their jobs as a result of the deal. A year is expected to be enough time for the network to be rebranded with new names and logos.
**Benefits to Ukraine**
The profits from this business are likely to go towards the national budget in the form of dividends. This means that the government will receive money from the sale of fuel at Shell’s gas stations.
