High-Ranking North Korean General Wounded in Ukraine Strike
A top North Korean general was hurt in a Ukrainian missile attack on Russia’s Kursk Oblast, the Wall Street Journal reported. This is the first time a senior North Korean military figure has been injured, as confirmed by Western officials.
The attack may have targeted a command post used by Russian and North Korean forces near the Bariatinsky estate in Maryino. However, details about the general’s identity and how he was hurt remain unknown.
North Korea sent 10,000 troops to Russia, mostly to the western Kursk Oblast area. They are taking part in combat operations. The Pentagon said this in a press briefing on November 12.
Russia is gathering a force of 50,000 soldiers, including North Korean troops, to launch a counter-offensive against a Ukrainian salient in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. This comes as Russia suffered heavy losses last month. Experts think the North Korean troops might be replacing injured and killed Russian soldiers.
