**Ukraine Seeks Advanced Missile Defense **

The Ukrainian military is looking improve its missile defense capabilities after a recent . A source within the of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) told Interfax-Ukraine that are underway with the US to get advanced systems.

Russia has been carrying out daily attacks on Ukraine, using missiles and drones to terrorize civilians and damage energy infrastructure. In one recent attack, a Russian strike on Dnipro used experimental missile called MIRV, which is designed to hit multiple targets at once.

**Ukraine Considers Upgrading System**

The Ukrainian military is considering two options to improve its defenses: upgrading the existing Patriot system or acquiring the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. The THAAD system is designed to intercept and destroy short- and medium-range missiles during their final descent.

The source within the AFU believes that Russia’ main goal with these advanced missiles is to intimidate Ukrainians, rather than cause significant damage. Despite this, the new Russian missiles have exceptional characteristics, including speed and height, that make them more threatening than conventional missiles.
