**Former PM Calls on Diplomats to Skip Parliament Session**
Giorgi Gakharia, former Prime Minister of Georgia and leader of the Gakharia-For Georgia party, held a briefing on November 21. He asked diplomats not to attend the opening session of the new Parliament.
Gakharia wants foreign ambassadors to show they don’t recognize the election results. He claims many Georgians are protesting these results, which he says were rigged.
**What’s Wrong with the Elections?**
Gakharia said there were three types of cheating in the elections: private vote details being shared, people connected to the ruling party being put on committees, and voters’ personal info being used unfairly. He also accused the ruling party of starting a fake investigation to hide the truth.
**Join the Protest**
The former PM asked Georgians to join a mass protest against the new Parliament. He wants citizens to show they won’t accept the election results until there’s an independent investigation into what happened.
Gakharia said his party is working with other opposition parties on two main issues: stopping this kind of cheating in elections and getting Georgia back on track towards Europe.
**Party Funding**
The former PM also talked about how his party will deal with funding from the state budget. He said they won’t accept it, but he didn’t say exactly what they’ll do instead.
**EU Relations**
Gakharia emphasized that punitive actions against the government shouldn’t include stopping visa liberalization. Instead, personal sanctions should be given to those responsible for rigging the elections.
**New Elections?**
The former PM doesn’t believe new elections will solve anything if there’s no change in key institutions like the Central Election Commission and others.
Gakharia was also asked about recent protests and violence against journalists. He condemned any obstruction of journalistic activities but noted that protesters are reacting to government violence first.
