New Government in Georgia Soon to Be Formed
The newly elected parliament will take over its duties soon. The government’s powers will be transferred, and it will start working under the new rules.
The party that won the most votes in the election will choose a candidate for Prime Minister. This time, the “Georgian Dream” party has nominated Irakli Kobakhidze for the top job again.
Parliament Has Two Weeks to Decide
The parliament has 14 days to decide whether to support the new government and its program. During this time, ministers will be questioned by committees according to their field of specialization. Each committee can hold only two hearings a day.
To gain confidence in the government, the majority of the parliament members must vote in favor. This is the rule that applies in Georgia now.
