**Russia Attacks Sumy with Shrapnel Drones**
On November 22, Russian Shahed-type drones attacked a residential area in Sumy, Ukraine. Two people were killed and 12 others injured.
Regional Governor Volodymyr Artiukh reported that the drones were equipped with shrapnel munitions. He said these types of weapons are designed to kill people, not destroy buildings.
Artiukh also compared this attack to a previous missile strike that used cluster munitions. He said the use of such weapons is “pure genocide“.
**Investigation Underway**
The Sumy regional prosecutor‘s office is investigating potential war crimes resulting in deaths. The investigation will look into the use of shrapnel munitions and their impact on civilians.
**Border Communities Suffer**
Sumy Oblast borders Russia, making it a vulnerable area to attacks. Residents in these communities experience multiple attacks per day.
