**Crimean Tatar Editor Missing in Russian-Occupied Crimea**
Ediye Muslimova, the editor of a Crimean Tatar children‘s magazine, has gone missing in Russia-occupied Crimea. The non-governmental organization (NGO) Crimean Solidarity reported her disappearance on November 21.
According to journalist Lutfiye Zudiyeva, Muslimova was seen being put into a white car by three unknown men near her home that morning. Crimea has been under Russian occupation since 2014, and Russia has targeted the indigenous Tatar population for resisting the occupation.
Muslimova’s family became worried when she stopped answering calls. Her niece, Elzara, said both of Muslimova’s phones were turned off, and there was no connection on messaging apps like Telegram or WhatsApp.
**Concerns Grow**
Human rights activist Zarema Bariieva from the Crimean Tatar Resource Center (CTRC) reported that a 61-year-old woman is being held in an FSB building. However, The Kyiv Independent could not verify this information at the time of publication.
Muslimova’s family and friends are concerned for her safety. She is the daughter of a well-known Crimean Tatar activist and editor of the children’s magazine “Armanchyk”. This magazine has been published monthly since 2011 and is reportedly the only glossy children’s magazine in the Crimean Tatar language.
**Background**
According to the CTRC, 70% of all political prisoners in occupied Crimea are Crimean Tatars. The situation for this community is becoming increasingly dire under Russian occupation.
