Lithuania Helps Ukraine with Drones
Lithuania has agreed to fund the production of Ukrainian long-range drones. This was announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on November 23.
The agreement between Lithuania and Ukraine includes a first payment of 10 million euros. The focus is on helping Ukraine produce its own Palianytsia missile-like drones.
Umerov thanked Lithuania for supporting Ukraine during these difficult times. He also met with Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas to discuss other plans, such as providing ammunition and air defense systems to Ukrainian brigades.
Both countries want to expand their cooperation in the defense industry next year. This is part of a bigger plan to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s war.
Sweden also recently agreed to fund the production of long-range drones for Ukraine. This is another way that Lithuania and Sweden are helping Ukraine with its defense needs.
