**Tbilisi Court Case Raises Concerns**
Two men, Saba Meparishvili and Omar Okribelashvili, have been in jail since May. They face 3-6 years in prison for damaging a metal barrier during protests against the Foreign Agents Law.
The Social Justice Center says this is an example of “political instrumentalization of the judiciary” and “unfair punishment”. The law used to charge them was added last year after protests against the same law.
**Concerns Over Fairness**
The SJC says the trial has been going on for too long, with hearings every two months. The judge’s health issues have delayed the process. This is seen as a way to keep the men in jail until there’s a chance for a presidential pardon.
The organization believes this shows “unfair criminal justice policies” and “disproportionate sentences”. They also think it highlights how the prosecutor general and court are being politicized.
**Need for Fair Trial**
The SJC is calling on the Tbilisi City Court to make a fair decision based on evidence. They want to see an end to unfair punishment and politicization of justice.
