**Court Delays Consideration of Protest Cases**
A group called the “Young Lawyers‘ Association” (GYLA) says a court in Georgia is taking too long to consider cases against people who were arrested during protests in April-May. These protests were against a law that was supposed to make it easier for Russia to influence Georgia.
The Tbilisi City Court is still looking at the cases of 6 activists who were arrested during this time. Despite being locked up for a while, their trials keep getting delayed. GYLA thinks this might be happening on purpose so that the president won’t have time to pardon them before his term ends.
**Fair Justice Delayed**
GYLA says that delaying these cases is not fair and violates the rights of prisoners. They want the court to hurry up and finish considering the cases. If imprisonment was used as a way to stop people from participating in protests, then they should be released soon.
GYLA also wants an investigation into how police handled the dispersal of protesters. This investigation should hold anyone who used violence accountable.
