War Changes the World: Georgia’s Vulnerable Position
On February 24, 2022, a major war broke out in Europe. Georgia was also affected by this conflict.
Shalva Papuashvili, who is running for parliament chairperson, said at the first session of the new parliament that Georgia is one of the most vulnerable countries in this situation.
The country had to make some tough decisions during the war. The government and parliament showed wisdom and prudence in taking a strong stance that was good for Georgia‘s national interest.
Georgia kept its focus on European integration and was even granted candidate status. The country also maintained peace and didn’t get involved in the war. We refused to impose sanctions on others, which helped our economy grow.
Some people tried to trick us into joining the war, but we were able to resist their provocations. Our government used this experience to make decisions that are good for Georgia.
The people of Georgia recognized these efforts and chose a government that knows what it’s doing. This is a sign that they trust our leaders to keep the country safe.
