The Parliament of the XI convocation has officially started its work. All 150 members have been recognized as authorized by the temporary mandate commission.
The commission checked that all elected members had valid documents. The head of the commission then read out a list of all the elected deputies, after which voting took place.
**Majority Party Supports New Parliament**
Most of the “Georgian Dream” party agreed with this decision. 88 of their representatives recognized the authority of all 150 members in the Parliament.
After being officially authorized, the deputies from the “Georgian Dream” party took an oath to be loyal to the country.
**National Anthem and Oath**
The national anthem of Georgia was played during this ceremony. The Chairman of the CEC (Central Election Commission) read out the text of the oath that all members of Parliament must take.
This oath is a promise to serve the country and its people, protect their rights and freedoms, and keep the nation’s independence and unity safe.
The deputies then said “I swear” as they promised to fulfill this oath. They also have to sign it in writing.
