**Georgia’s Election Results Not Legitimate**
Tina Bokuchava, the chairperson of the “National Movement”, spoke out against the recent parliamentary elections in Georgia. She said that the results do not reflect the will of the Georgian people.
The election was marred by massive schemes and fraud, making it unfair to announce the results. The international community should not recognize these results, Tina Bokuchava said at a press conference with European parliamentarians in Strasbourg.
**Investigations Needed**
Tina Bokuchava called on the international community to investigate the scale of fraud that occurred during the election. She suggested using international investigative mechanisms, which would be used on the ground by the European Union in Georgia as a candidate country.
This investigation is necessary to study the extent of the fraud and to reveal the truth about the election results. The evidence against the election results continues to mount, Tina Bokuchava said.
**European Parliament’s Role**
Tina Bokuchava hopes that the European Parliament will ensure that the mandate and composition of this investigative mission will be such as to influence and reveal the extent of the fraud. She also called on the European Parliament to take strong actions against Georgia for releasing political prisoners, including former President Mikheil Saakashvili.
**Pardoning Political Prisoners**
Tina Bokuchava expressed her hope that President Salome Zurabishvili will pardon President Saakashvili and release him from prison. She believes that Georgia cannot have a European future with political prisoners.
The draft of the resolution adopted by the European Parliament includes a call to the Government of Georgia to release Mikheil Saakashvili, who has been imprisoned for four years on political charges.
