Joe Rogan’s Comments on Ukraine Miss the Point
American podcaster Joe Rogan recently spoke out against Ukraine on his podcast. He criticized the US for changing its rules to let Ukraine use US-supplied weapons to target Russian territory. He also strongly attacked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of wanting to start a world war.
Rogan’s comments sparked controversy. Some people love listening to his strong opinions and viral moments on social media. However, when he talks about complex topics like Ukraine, his conversation often feels one-sided. Rogan doesn’t give Ukrainians a chance to respond to his claims.
This is not just unfair. It also shows how rarely Ukrainians are involved in global debates about their own country. For years, Ukraine has been at the center of discussions about war and world politics. But when people like Rogan talk about us, they often don’t listen to what we have to say.
Rogan often criticizes traditional media for not giving a voice to dissenting opinions. However, by not inviting Ukrainian perspectives on his show, he becomes the very thing he rails against – someone who doesn’t listen to others’ views.
A podcast that prides itself on tough conversations should include all sides of an issue. By excluding Ukrainians from the conversation, Rogan’s show is contradictory. We believe that everyone should be able to share their thoughts and opinions, especially when it comes to topics that affect them directly.
