**Russian Spy Chief Warns of Western Plot to Overthrow Georgia**
Russia’s top spy, Sergey Naryshkin, has spoken out against Western attempts to overthrow the government in neighboring Georgia. In a meeting with security leaders from other former Soviet countries, he said that he hopes these efforts will fail.
Naryshkin believes that the West is trying to stage a “color revolution” – a type of coup where peaceful protests are used to bring down a government. He says this has happened before in Kazakhstan and Belarus, but was unsuccessful.
Georgia recently moved away from its goal of joining Europe and instead focused on protecting its national interests and traditions. Naryshkin sees this as a positive change and believes that the country’s authorities have learned from their previous mistakes.
Naryshkin is hopeful that Georgia will be able to resist Western pressure and maintain its independence. He warns that the West does not give up easily, but is confident that the Georgian government will be able to withstand these attempts at a coup.
