Public Defender Doesn’t Comment on Elections
The public defender of Georgia, Levan Ioselian, was asked by a journalist if the elections held on October 26 were free, fair and universal. He refused to comment.
Ioseliani said that the Public Defender relies on reports from OSCE/ODIHR, an international organization that monitors elections. He believes it is not correct for him to make his own assessment of how the elections were conducted.
The Public Defender explained that his office does not have the ability to monitor elections. Therefore, any other opinion from him would be wrong.
