**Russia Attacks ‘s Power Grid**

November 28, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack against Ukraine. The attacks targeted infrastructure across the country.

The Ukrainian announced a nationwide aerial alert after warning that seven Russian -95 strategic bombers were headed towards Ukraine. Explosions were reported in several cities, including Kharkiv, Odesa, Lutsk, and Rivne.

Ukraine’s Energy Minister, Herman Halushchenko, said that Russia had dealt a “massive blow” to the country’s power grid. Emergency blackouts have been implemented in multiple regions to protect the energy system from further attacks.

**New Threats for Ukraine**

This is not the first time Russia has targeted Ukraine’s power grid. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that over 800 guided aerial bombs, nearly 460 attack , and more than 20 missiles had been launched against Ukraine in just one week.

A new intermediate-range (IRBM) called “” was also launched by Russia on November 21. The attack has triggered an emergency meeting of the -Ukraine Council and renewed calls for advanced systems from Western partners.
