**Russia Attacks Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure**
On November 28, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine. The attacks targeted energy infrastructure and caused widespread power outages across the country.
**Many Regions Affected**
The Ukrainian Energy Minister confirmed that attacks hit energy facilities in many regions, including Kyiv, Rivne, Lutsk, and others. Emergency power cuts were triggered in these areas to prevent a total blackout.
**Power Outages and Damage**
Rivne was one of the hardest-hit cities, with over 280,000 subscribers losing electricity. Water supply disruptions were also reported in the city. Schools in Rivne and parts of the Rivne district switched to remote learning due to power outages.
Lutsk experienced explosions, causing power and water outages. Public transport in Lutsk was halted, and alternative bus routes were introduced. Emergency generators powered essential services.
**Other Areas Affected**
In Kyiv, missile debris fell on two districts, but no fires or injuries were reported. In Vinnytsia Oblast, residential damage and injuries were reported. The deputy head of the Oblast Military Administration said a woman was injured in the attack.
In Sumy Oblast, Russian missile strikes hit infrastructure in the Shostka community, destroying several buildings and damaging a school, an apartment block, and parts of a hospital.
**Railways and Energy Recovery Efforts**
Ukrainian Railways reported that over 150 trains remained operational with minimal delays. Restoration of affected routes is ongoing.
The Ukrainian Air Force has not yet released statistics on the number of intercepted missiles and drones during the assault. Investigations and restoration efforts are ongoing nationwide.
