Rallygoers Arrive, Join Protest in Front of Parliament
People participating in a rally against the Georgian government’s decision gathered near the office of the ruling party. They then joined protesters already standing in front of the Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue.
The newcomers were welcomed with cheers and applause from the crowd. Some also climbed onto metal fences surrounding the Parliament to express their discontent.
These demonstrations are taking place in several cities, including Tbilisi. The protests started after Georgia‘s Prime Minister announced that his country will not discuss joining the European Union until 2028. He also said that Georgia will not accept any EU financial aid until then.
