Member of “Gakharia for Georgia” party, Beka Liluashvili, spoke about the future of the parliamentary mandates. He said that it is up to the party itself and its voters to decide when and how they will terminate their mandates.
Liluashvili explained that recognizing a parliament as legitimate or not is not just about writing statements. It’s about being represented in the parliament and being considered legitimate by citizens and international partners. Since “Gakharia for Georgia” is not represented, neither is the current parliament seen as legitimate.
When asked how they will terminate their mandates, Liluashvili said that it’s up to the party and its voters to decide. He added that they are communicating with voters about this issue.
The party is also working to ensure that any political process arising from the parliament does not have legitimacy. According to Liluashvili, the current parliament does not represent “Gakharia for Georgia”, so it cannot be considered legitimate.
